HAVANA, Cuba, May 31 (acn) The director of the Matanzas Chamber Chorus Jose Antonio Mendez Valencia said on Monday in Matanzas, that the audience that assisted in the performance of Morgan State University Chorus applauded with satisfaction the memorable concert.
He added that the performance was a unique experience to appreciate the African American culture in the group in an authentic manner, said the also Doctor in Musical Pedagogy and praised the theatrical development of its director Eric Conway.
This is the 3rd presentation of the group in Cuba after performing in Cienfuegos and Villa Clara during their first visit to the island promoted by the Classical Movements Agency.
Conway told the press that he is happy for the exchange in a nation with very good choruses and wanted to a closer look at Cuban culture and the Afro Cuban roots. He stressed that he is taking the Cuban music in his heart.
Known in the world for its vocal quality and as one of the best choruses of the so called gospel music in the US, the Morgan State University Chorus offered a luxury repertoire interpreting spiritual music with incredible energy on stage and wonderful voices.
