Ciro Immobile admits there is 'a lot of competition' for an Azzurri shirt: 'Everyone must fight for their place'.
Italy kick off their Euro 2016 tournament against Belgium on Monday 13, and it's still uncertain which of the strikers is going to start.
“We're very driven, we're preparing everything down to the finest detail,” Immobile told the Press. “There are three days to go and we're ready.
“We did a lot of work in Coverciano. Our group has to remain compact, there will be space for everyone. We care about this shirt and we want to do well.
“Everyone has to fight for their place on the team. There's a lot of competition. Playing here means being on a very prestigious platform.”
Immobile's convoluted career took him from Borussia Dortmund to Sevilla and, as of last winter, to Torino.
“I worked hard in my last six months with Torino. I must thank them, it's because of them that I earned this call-up. I'm grateful.
“I haven't played the last few matches and this will give me a little extra freshness compared to the others.
“I'm focused, this is an important opportunity to show my worth. I'm 26 and it's time to show my strength.
