Hawks warn of Durban luggage scam

Durban – The Hawks on Wednesday warned the public about two men who allegedly duped people into giving them money by pretending to have left their luggage on a boat.

James Mator, 41, and Peabody Spencer, 40, appeared in the Durban Commercial Crime Court on Wednesday on charges including fraud, KwaZulu-Natal Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo said in a statement.

They would remain in custody until their next appearance on June 29. They were arrested on Tuesday.
