Johannesburg – The Muslim Judicial Council of South Africa on Tuesday condemned the suicide attack near the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina in Saudi Arabia, saying Muslims should protect their children from any “extremist views that promote hate”.
The council also expressed its disapproval of two other suicide attacks that took place within hours of one another on Tuesday in Jeddah as well as at the Al Faraj Al-Omran Mosque in Qatif where three people were killed.
“We convey our condolences to the families of the four officers who lost their lives during the blast in the vicinity of the Mosque of the Prophet Muhammad,” the council’s Shaykh Irfaan Abrahams said in a statement.
The council also wished all those who were injured a speedy recovery.
