Parwanoo-Shimla National Highway: One dead in eatery shootout, 11 UP tourists detained

ONE PERSON died while two others were injured in an exchange of fire at a dhaba (eatery) at Lower Sanwara on Parwanoo-Shimla National Highway late this evening. Eleven persons, including two women, who were part of a tourist group from Noida in Uttar Pradesh, have been detained in connection with the case, said Inspector General of police (Shimla) Zahoor H Zaidi.

The deceased has been identified as dhaba-owner Paramjit Singh from Sangrur in Punjab.

Reports reaching Shimla said the incident took place around 5.30 pm when the tourists’ group had placed some orders at the dhaba, named Urban Dhaba, where a fight broke out over the quality of food being served.
