Qualcomm launches new Snapdragon Wear 1100 SoC

In an announcement at the 2016 Computex trade show in Taiwan on Monday, bigwig US chip maker Qualcomm said that it is launching a new set of Snapdragon Wear chips — the Snapdragon Wear 1100 system-on-chip (SoC) — for wearable devices targeted at specific users.

Announcing the Snapdragon Wear 1100 SoC, Qualcomm said that the new chips will be part of next-generation wearable devices which will largely target specific audiences — like smartwatches for children and the elderly, fitness trackers, smart bands, smart headsets, and smart eyewear.
