West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee calls for road safety, launching ‘special drive’

Everyday, so many lives are lost due to irresponsible driving,” said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in a facebook post.

The West Bengal government is launching a special drive from Friday to inculcate a sense of safe driving and responsible road behaviour among people, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursady said.

“Road safety is a very important aspect in our lives. Roads take us to schools, colleges, hospitals, markets, offices – practically to almost all places connected with our day to day living. And at the end of the day, roads take us to our homes,” Banerjee said in a Facebook post.

“Safe driving is an essential component of road safety. Everyday, so many lives are lost due to irresponsible driving,” she said.

Banerjee said in order to inculcate a sense of safe driving and responsible road behaviour, the state government is launching a special initiative named ‘Safe Drive, Save Life’ from Friday.
