Which Is The Best & Most Significant Gadget Of 2012? [MakeUseOf Poll]

Last week we asked you to choose which company is most worthy of “best of 2012” title. The poll was identical to one we held last year, with the intention to see the differences between 2011 and 2012 for the big companies that shape the world of technology. While not as many readers voted as last year (probably due to the poll’s timing), an interesting picture still emerged. For comparison’s sake, last year’s results are presented in brackets next to this year’s.

Out of 365 votes in total (compared to 543 last year), the results were as follows: Nokia arrived in last place, with 1% of the votes (0.3% last year), next was Facebook with 2% of the votes (3% last year), 5% voted for Mozilla (26% last year), 8% voted for Amazon (10% last year), 9% voted for Microsoft (4% last year), Apple received 11% of the votes (19% last year), in second place came Samsung with 19% of the votes (8% last year), and the winner of the best company of 2012 is…. Google! With 39% of the votes (26% last year).

Full results and this week’s poll after the jump.

It’s interesting to note that the winner this year and last year received that exact same amount of votes: 143. Last year it was Mozilla who took the title, with Google trailing close behind. This year Mozilla was no where in sight, leaving the road wide open for Google.

This week’s poll question is: Which Is The Best & Most Significant Gadget Of 2012?
